LEGO Ideas quietly removes 10K project from second 2024 review
The LEGO Ideas team has quietly removed a modular building that recently reached 10,000 votes from its second 2024 review.
LEGO Ideas users Roberto Ceruti and Jody Padulano – collaborating under the username 2PPL – reached the second 2024 review stage with their Artists Cafe – The University House on May 26. But as spotted by The Brick Fan, the project page now returns a 403 error. That means the LEGO Ideas team has disqualified it from the review phase.
Exactly why the project has been struck off isn’t clear, and likely never will be unless the builders choose to reveal the reasons publicly. The LEGO Group rarely explains specific reasons for removing projects from reviews on those equally rare occasions that it does happen. For its part, the project seems like a straightforward depiction of university dorms with a café, an artistic laboratory and an observatory.
Update: Roberto has confirmed to Brick Fanatics that the original submission mistakenly exceeds the limit of 3,000 pieces for a single LEGO Ideas project, which the LEGO Group only identified once it had reached 10,000 votes (rather than at the initial approval phase).
The prolific pair’s account is still active, and together they’ve successfully taken six different projects to the LEGO Ideas review stage, but have yet to see any of them given the green light by the LEGO Ideas review board. Their Charlie and the Chocolate Factory project is currently part of the third 2023 review, the results of which we’ll likely find out this summer.
For now, here are the other 11 projects still in the running in this round, including two that qualified for the review stage in the past 24 hours.
