LEGO Marvel 76295 The Avengers Helicarrier will require some skilful building

At least one part of LEGO Marvel 76295 The Avengers Helicarrier’s build will be tricky to pull off right, judging from the official photos.

You wouldn’t think that a midiscale version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier would be too complex of a build. After all, its cousins in LEGO Star Wars are designed to be mid-priced, mid-sized LEGO sets that are easier to build, display, and afford than larger UCS versions of the same ships. Despite being an 18+ set, at 509 pieces, you wouldn’t expect 76295 The Avengers Helicarrier to pose too many issues.

However, a closer look at the details on the runway reveals at least one area that might prove difficult. The runway lines and markings seem to be stickered, rather than printed. Of course, stickers are part and parcel of a LEGO set – but in this case, it will be especially notable if any of them are misaligned, given they’re supposed to be one long line, rather than separate sections.

That means it will take some skilled sticker application to keep your runway in line. If you’re not already clued up on ideal sticker techniques, the flat end of a brick separator can go a long way to helping line up a sticker correctly. Make sure one end is straight than use the flat edge to smooth down the rest of the sticker.

Some redditors in this ultimate sticker guide have also touted the benefits of dipping the LEGO piece itself in soapy water, which allows you to move the sticker around a bit to get the perfect position. We haven’t tested this ourselves but apparently it doesn’t affect the print or longevity of the sticker. Good luck!

76295 The Avengers Helicarrier launches on August 1, 2024, and the model is available to pre-order now for £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99.
