LEGO NINJAGO mech-centric mini-series announced
Ahead of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising Season 2, a new mini-series with a returning villain is coming focusing on three new mech models.
Three new LEGO NINJAGO mechs have just launched – 71806 Cole’s Elemental Earth Mech, 71807 Sora’s Elemental Tech Mech and 71808 Kai’s Elemental Fire Mech. These models can swap limbs and other elements and a mini-series exploring this concept is coming soon. Titled ‘The Elemental Mechs’, the mini-series takes place at the Crossroads as seen in the first season and stars Kai, Cole, Arin and Sora.
Those familiar with NINJAGO will be interested to hear that Chronosteel is returning after its debut in the Hands of Time season. The mechs appear to be made of this material, allowing elemental powers to be mixed into the mechs.
The swapping feature is showcased in the trailer too, though no release date has been revealed at this time. It seems likely that when it is made available, The Elemental Mechs will be uploaded to YouTube as with the first season of the series and other promotional NINJAGO content including the recent LEGO DREAMZzz crossover.
The presence of Cole in the trailer is interesting as he had left for another quest in the first season of the series and the mini-series has since been confirmed as canon. Out of the cast, the return of The Mechanic is notable as he has not been seen since the defeat of The Crystal King and his council, debuting in Dragons Rising as part of the mini-series.
As well as these three mechs, more new LEGO NINJAGO sets are now available with another mech coming later this year as well as rumours for the summer wave for the theme.
