LEGO NINJAGO might be building to a big competition in 2024
LEGO NINJAGO could be building to a larger tournament event in 2024, judging from some early looks at potential set names.
Details about LEGO NINJAGO 2024 polybags and sets are starting to trickle into the LEGO rumour mill, thanks to the combined listings from French retailer Club Jouet and reports from usually reliable Instagram user brick_clicker. Judging from these early suggested set names, LEGO NINJAGO could be building to a big inter-dojo event.
Club Jouet has published a listing for an upcoming LEGO NINJAGO 2024 polybag, 30675 Tournament Training Grounds, soon to be available for $4.99 and appearing to be an ideal pairing to this summer’s rumoured 71818 Tournament Arena Battle. The latter is priced at $49.99 for 659 pieces, a decent size for a tournament-themed build.
The idea of competing Spinjitzu dojos was already teased in 2023, suggesting that these sets centred around a tournament could offer up the possibility of LEGO NINJAGO expanding outside of its core team of ninjas, offering different groups to fight against or potentially even with one another. After all, we’re entering into a whole new era of NINJAGO, so nothing is off the table.
Although there’s no official word on when we’ll see more NINJAGO on our screens, these upcoming set names give some indication that there’s a big event on its way. This wouldn’t be the first time that LEGO NINJAGO has entered its tournament era, the most famous of which was the iconic Tournament of Elements. This event sparked a few sets of its own, including one for the 10th anniversary, so it’s not pulling too far at the string to say that having at least two tournament-themed sets on the horizon could suggest something similar is on the cards.
Only time will tell, but for now here’s a reminder of every LEGO NINJAGO set rumoured and confirmed for 2024.
