LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy sets revealed

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy sets have been revealed, based on the upcoming Rebuild the Galaxy animated special.

European retailer Fnac has revealed two new LEGO Star Wars sets based on the upcoming Rebuild the Galaxy animated special – 75389 The Dark Falcon and 75393 TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash-up.

75389 The Dark Falcon

Price: €174.95 Pieces: 1,579 Release date: August 1, 2024

75389 The Dark Falcon consists of 1,579 pieces and depicts a dark version of The Millennium Falcon that was prominently featured in the first trailer for Rebuild the Galaxy. The massive and black Millennium Falcon even includes what appears to be a miniature version of the Death Star’s laser.

The six exclusive minifigures in 75389 The Dark Falcon will be worth collecting, including Beach Luke, Jedi Vader, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev, Darth Jar Jar and Darth Rey. The latter is one of the only non-original depictions as the Dark Side version of Rey was briefly featured in The Rise of Skywalker.

The back of the box is on the listing but the low-quality image doesn’t reveal much of the interior. There appears to be a throne for Darth Jar Jar, a holding cell and a dark version of Dejarik too, though we won’t know for sure until we see better pictures.

75393 TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash-up

Price: €104.95 Pieces: 1,063 Release date: August 1, 2024

This 1,063-piece set includes an X-Wing and a TIE Fighter that can be remixed into different ships – an X-Fighter and a TIE Wing – as we can see in the trailer for Rebuild the Galaxy.

It’s a unique feature for a LEGO Star Wars set and one that reminds us of The Freemaker Adventures and how that series would mash up brick-built ships. The set is listed for release on August 1, 2024, for €104.95.

The highlight of the set is the many exclusive minifigures, including new characters Yesi Scala, Sig Greebling and L3-GO. No prizes for guessing what the last name is a reference to and these all appear to be wholly original characters created for Rebuild the Galaxy. These are joined by a standard Rebel Pilot and TIE Pilot.

Rebuild the Galaxy releases on Disney+ on September 13. The European retailer also recently revealed listings for LEGO Speed Champions and an upcoming Marvel model too.

It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

As a side note, several aspects of these sets are based off of Legends content. Jedi Vader comes from a What If comic, while the X-Wing TIE Fighter mashup comes from the Legends and Canon concept of “Uglies”, in-universe mashed up ships made from leftover scraps of other ships from the clone wars and the galactic civil war.
