More images of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy August 2024 sets

An online retailer has published bigger and better images of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy sets, including 75389 The Dark Falcon.

Inspired by September’s Disney+ animated special Rebuild the Galaxy, these two August 2024 releases offer up something a little different for LEGO Star Wars’ most conventional subjects: a Millennium Falcon, X-wing and TIE Fighter. 75389 The Dark Falcon flips the light and dark sides on their head, giving Han Solo’s freighter an evil paint job and staffing it with the likes of Darth Rey and Darth Jar Jar.

75393 TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash-up, meanwhile, dives deep into Star Wars Legends lore for a pair of official LEGO Uglies, with solar panels and wings that can be swapped between its two ships. Initial, low-res images of these sets came from French retailer Fnac, but higher-resolution images have now appeared on Polish retailer Proshop. You can check them out below.

These images give us a much closer look at the interior of 75389 The Dark Falcon, which seems to offer the most significant point of departure from 75257 Millennium Falcon (beyond the new set’s colour scheme). Alongside sleeping quarters for the crew are a throne for Darth Jar Jar, a prison cell (and surfboard) for Beach Luke Skywalker, and even a gaming area with a TV and console.

75393 TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash-up

Price: €109.99 Pieces: 1,063 Release date: August 1, 2024

While those early images of 75393 TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash-up demonstrated that you can swap the wings of the two starfighters, it wasn’t entirely clear how that would work, mainly thanks to the low resolution of the renders. These new pics confirm that it won’t require any real disassembly, but the vehicles should still be pretty sturdy: the wings are locked in place first by a 2×2 brick with Technic pin, then second by an axle that slides through said 2×2 brick.

Look out for both of these new LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy sets on shelves on August 1. We’ll hopefully get confirmation on their full international pricing very soon.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy arrives on Disney+ on September 13, 2024.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
