Retro rocket blasts into LEGO Ideas second 2024 review

A retro rocket inspired by Tintin has launched into the second 2024 LEGO Ideas review round, proposing a different kind of space set.

Hot on the heels of 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System, tkel86’s Tintin – Space Rocket submission has reached 10,000 supporters, earning it a spot in the second 2024 review round.

The project proposes a red and white rocket made up of 1,022 pieces and a launch tower using 643 elements. The design of both builds is vastly different from 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System and is inspired by the Tintin – Destination Moon comic book.

They are not to scale with minifigures to save on the piece count and the likely price, though that could be amended to include minifigures in an official set. A stand is also depicted in one of the images, though this appears to be for visual purposes only.

Now the project joins seven other submissions in the second 2024 LEGO Ideas review and there’s plenty of time for more models to join the round.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
